Our Web platform delivers two types of services:
First, it cost-effectively and securely delivers software applications as a service (SaaS) optimized for healthcare professionals in smaller-sized medical practices and patients as well. Authorized users populate and access a SUPR™ electronic health record, or Single Unified Patient Record, containing a patient’s lifetime medical history. It is always organized and available online for patients and healthcare professionals.
Second, a data gateway allows medical data produced by the continuum of healthcare to be seamlessly integrated into a SUPR™ electronic health record. Our medical data gateway makes it easy for doctors, hospitals, employers, laboratories, pharmacies, insurance providers, PHRs and manufacturers of health devices to add information electronically into a SUPR™ electronic health record. It also enables third-party applications to be integrated into our solution, such as PHRs, clinical decision support, revenue cycle and drug interaction applications. This allows us to provide a complete solution for end users.

On-Demand clinical applications and multi-tenant architecture
We believe the best type of software application for physicians in small practices is no software at all. That may sound disconcerting, but businesses and medical practices are turning to the On-Demand service model, through which software applications are delivered as a service over the Internet. For physicians, On-Demand is the antidote to many of the IT headaches associated with the traditional client-server or on-premise software model. With no software or hardware to buy, install, maintain, or upgrade, the popularity of On-Demand grows as medical practices are increasingly asked to do more with less.
At the heart of many of the benefits of the On-Demand model is a key innovation a multi-tenant architecture in which all users and applications share a single, common infrastructure and code base that is centrally maintained. Each MedConnex clinic has its own virtual partition rather than separate physical stacks of hardware and software. For MedConnex users, this translates into solutions that are lower cost, highly secure, easier to use and implement.
Compliance and Standards
Our solution is designed from the onset to be HIPAA compliant, and standards-based including CCR (Continuity of Care Record), ISO 11073 (Point-of-care medical device communication), ISO 13606 (Electronic health record communication), ISO21549 (Patient healthcare data), ISO 25237 (Pseudonymization). Our system adheres to the HL7 standard, allowing us to integrate with a range of ancillary systems in the healthcare IT space. We also closely monitor work being done via public/private collaborative groups such as the Markle Foundation and the Common framework for networked personal health information.
